Meet the instructors of Emerald Valley Tai Chi

Jared Blakesmith

I began training in Chinese Martial Arts about 25 years ago. Though I had studied Shaolin Kungfu and Wing Chun, I found I needed a practice that was as much for my health as it was for developing martial skill. I sought skilled Tai Chi teachers and found the disciples of Chen Qingzhou. I currently study with Sifu Tony Wong, one of Chen Qingzhou’s indoor disciples.

Similarly, I found Sifu Richard Clear who teaches a progressive approach to efficiently developing internal skills of Tai Chi.

I hope to bring Tai Chi to my students in a way that helps bolster their health.

Hanna Romaniuk

I practiced martial arts and Tai Chi off and on since high school. During high school and college, I practiced Yang style 108 long form and the Beijing 24 simplified form. Later, I practiced Chen Family Taijiquan for a few years.

After a long break, I started to practice Tai Chi again with Jared. Learning with Jared and many of his teachers, I have been using Tai Chi to help manage a few health issues and rehabilitate injuries.
